I bought 2 stainless steel bottle fillers from Amazon.

Seems like a great idea right? Easily, fully disassemble for cleaning, silicone washers that are completely cleanable, sanitize easily, etc..
I thought, " I do some wild ales, I'll get one for that and one for clean beer"

What they do not mention, is they are about twice as wide as the plastic one, and this means filling the bottles only to the neck..

Does anyone else use these? I'm worried about oxidation(normally not an issue), or carb levels being affected(more headspace == less CO2 in solution?).

Anyone with experience, I'd love to hear.

I used to leave just over an inch of headspace when bottle carbonating and using my stainless "kegking" beergun no fears of oxidation since that oxygen is used by the yeast to wake up and carbonate as far as I understand. now if the beer is already carbonated? I dunno... I guess the plastic one is better for this use as well as being able to see how clean it is.

I never seen the need for a stainless filler wand myself... never needed to disassemble mine nor saw and contamination as a result.. seems like this is a problem looking for a solution..
