I was recently given a fridge that has seen life as a kegerator. Yay! With it came a spigot as well as the shank to fit through the door.
The issue is, the collar...the end bit on the shank that the spigot itself fits into, which is then tightened down...is a source of leakage. Not a few drips, but it's notable.
I've taped and taped and taped the spigot itself with teflon tape hoping to stop the leak. No go, still drips.
The collar itself has holes in it...and from what I can see, that's where you'd hook one of those fancy tap wrenches into it and yank.
So, questions!
1.) Is there supposed to be an o-ring inside the collar itself? I didn't see one, but it's possible that it's disappeared in the many moves this machine has made.
2.) Is it likely that I'm just not cranking the collar down tight enough? I'm doing it (outside of the fridge, of course) as tightly as I can by hand, but I'm not able to get a REALLY good grip on the shank itself.
3.) Anyone else had similar issues?
