I made a 1600 ml starter out of a White Labs Vial. How many times can I decant and split to make more starters out of this 1600. Thanks in advance Brett

If your sanitation methods are sound, I suppose you could split it in half and then re-pitch each half into another 1600 mils of fresh wort for at least 10 or 15 generations, maybe more. I think you would grow about the same amount of cells with each split.

Pretty much what the last guy said. You could go for a quite a while if your sanitation is good. I would imagine you'll have to contend with contamination long before your yeast start to mutate. Just make sure you keep a good on eye on them so you know if something looks different down the road. Also, smell them along the way and if you detect any funky odors, start over with a fresh vial.
