Just started fermentation on a 5 gallon batch. wondering if it is generally okay to split. I have a 3 gallon corny keg and then would bottle the rest?

Also do the priming sugars scale down? for example the kit I made this with comes with 5 oz of priming sugar so could I just use 2 oz for the 2 gallons I want to bottle and then carb the keg with CO2?

I do that a lot. I'll brew 7 gallons: keg 5 bottle 2. I just add my priming sugar right to the bottles then fill them.

Have any of you tried kegging and bottling after carbing in a conical? Found a couple posts on how to, curious on possible issues.
I do it everytime. Can't think of any downsides besides equipment cost . Cheers
