I bought a Spike kettle back in July and I LOVE it. Very well built. No regrets.

I've been looking at these as well. How do they compare to polarwares?

Not sure about polarware. My old kettle was an 8g bayou classic which is now my HLT. The Spike is well made. What I like is that the fittings (I got two) are welded. The aspect ratio is much better than my old one. The boil is a lot more rolling and uniform. I added a thermometer in the second fitting which I like for watching the cooling and for anticipating the boil.
