I installed a spigot last week so I could bottle my last oatmeal stout.

I couldn't get it to seal. I tightened the he!! out of it, but it still had a slow drip.

I used the supplied rubber gasket on the inside of the bucket, inbetween the inside bucket wall and spigot nut.

Anyone have an idea on how to make this seal better?

Is silicone safe to use?

get yourself some silicone bottle nipples then cut some gaskets or you can buy silicone cooking trays and do the same . dont tighten the fitting to much 9 out 10 times thats what caused the leak in the first place

I picked up one more ring for the outside. I'm going to try that in addition to the inside ring, before I go and try to fabricate a seal out of something.

Thanks for the info

lubricate them with keg lube or assemble wet, and dont overtighten. Tightening too much causes the oring to stretch or kink
