I did one last year with cinnamon, clove, vanilla bean and orange zest that turned out ok aged on med toast American white oak for about 6 months.
 
Some people also add caramel and brown sugar into the recipe since you won't get the full amount of caramel flavour and wood sugars from Oak compared to commercial rum (much like vanilla).

For when I'm done with my spirit run planning on adding: Orange zest, vanilla, caramel extract, brown sugar, molasses, clove and cinnamon.
