Speidel isn't bubbling

I'm on my fifth or so batch with Speidel and the airlock never bubbles.

I am aware that this is not indicative of a stalled fermentation

In fact, I can see the krausen through the vessel so I know the yeast are plenty busy. I'm just curious what is causing this. my first guess is the o-ring for the screw on cap, which I can never seem to get on correctly.

The same thing has happened to me on a couple of occasions. For some reason, the screw top mechanism sometimes doesn't screw on air tight. I've rescued it on and its worked. I also just purchased a new top and o-ring and will try that.

I've thought about trying to unscrew it and reattach it, but I can tell it is fermenting and don't want to mess with it too much. Maybe I'll try a new o ring like you mentioned. Mine
Seems like it is a tad too big.

I just bought one and Im having the same issue. I think the leak is frpm the rim. Has any of your batches been spoiled due to infection from the outside?
That is my worry
