I just bought 2, 20 gallon Update International (megapot) kettles, and I'm going to have a local welder weld some couplers for ball valves, thermometers and a thermowell. Is there a standard spacing for flat bottomed homebrew kettles?
How far from the bottom should I weld the coupler for the ball valve to fit under a false bottom, and the thermometer coupler so that the dial is clear of the valve handle and the thermo stem is clear of the false bottom. Thanks everyone!
