It appears based on a number of recent reviews on amazon that the SP10 now comes with a 10psi regulator as does the SQ14. I called bayou directly to confirm and the person I spoke to said that is in fact the case. The SP10 is upgradable to a 20psi I guess where the SQ14 is not (info got over the phone).

To me, that was pretty much the only difference between them so it's hard to see why anyone would go with one over the other. Anyone have any thoughts with this info?

Yeah this is weird.

I just got the SP10 from amazon and on the box it says 20psi regulator but the when I look up the model number of the regulator it comes up as a 10psi (JYT-GYA7/8). I'm kind of bummed out because of this. :( I don't know if I have a leg to stand on because in the amazon description does say it comes with the 10psi regulator but the box and the bayou site say 20psi... So I don't really know. The SP10 and SQ14 were just about the same price so cost is not really and issue at this point.

Same thing happened to me. I just called but I guess the people who deal with replacements were on lunch so the person I talked to took my name and number. I told her that the box said a 20 PSI regulator and I received 10 PSI one and she said that's what they come with now and there really isn't a difference but someone would call me back and explain what the difference is. I'm very curious what they'll have to say because from what I've read on various sites the 10 PSI is 55,000-75,000 BTUs (depending what site I read) and the 20 PSI model is 175,000-185,000 BTUs which is a huge difference. I may just ask if I can even just exchange the 10 PSI model for a 20 PSI as it doesn't seem like there is a difference in price on least on Amazon.
