What can be used to seal a crack in a bucket fermenter? It's paper thin and about 1/4 inch long and I'd like to seal it with something so it's air tight, but don't want anything toxic or let air in to infect the brew. Or is this something that is small enough that I shouldn't worry about it?

Your best bet is to scrap it and replace the bucket. A small crack is a great place for bacteria to live and hide from sanitizer. I wouldn't take the risk.

It's a plastic bucket. They're not designed to last. Just bite the bullet and get a new one.

I agree scrap it.

That said, for things like this aquarium silicone works best. But its going to cost you as much as a new bucket at most pet stores.

Its nice to have around though, 100% silicone and is non toxic once its cured...obviously you cant seal aquariums with any chemicals, fish are super finicky and will die if even small amounts of the wrong chemicals get in their water.

I use it to help seal all types of things.

A new bucket. As others said, not worth the time, money and hassle to try to repair a plastic bucket.
