Soft drink regulators and beer

Anyone know why soft drink regulators aren't made for beer?

I've got one that I intend to build around, but after looking at the micromatic website, I'm not so sure it's fit for this application.

Why not?

Is this a universal truth, or just for this particular one? What about an older cornelius one?

I think I see the difference. Soda ones have a range of 0-110 while beer ones are 0-60, making it easier to dial in?

a cornelius, nad, or norgren will work. on the one linked... poppeycock! its only a pressure device. who cares? all regulators are rated co2/argon/nitrogen.

The one I've got is a 0-160 PSI, now that I look can I still dial in carbonation with this?

the gauge may be a tad "fuzzy" with such a large sweep. i just replaced my cornelius 0-100 in 5psiincrements with -15to150 in 2psi increments.
