Three day weekend, this weekend, I have the New Castle ingredients. I will look to see if I can do something different with the grains I have. Definitely a brew day coming.

Packaging my oatmeal stout this weekend. Three gallons into bottles and two gallons into Cubitainers for an attempt at DIY cask ale (no hand pump yet, just gravity dispensing).

Also racking the cherry melomel off the cherries and into tertiary for a long winter's nap.

If I get time to brew, I'm going to make a clone of Timothy Taylor's Landlord. My Wyeast 1469 should be delivered tomorrow!

I was going to be brewing today; actually took a 1/2 day of vacation to do so. I decanted my starter about an hour ago and realized by tasing and taking a gravity that nothing had happened. I was kind of worried about it when my smack packs didn't swell. I was going to brew a dortmunder export. This makes for a frustrating day. I guess I'll order some new yeast and try again. I wish I would have had some dry lager yeast on hand as a backup.

:(

I am gonna brew my Kelly RIPA tonight!
I freed up my buckets last night putting my stout into 2ndary.

Haha great name. I just brewed a batch of Jamils Evil Twin. I have planning on brewing this for at least a year so Im pretty excited that I finally got to brew it.

Planning on an Amber tomorrow...and empty fermenter is a sad fermenter. Of course that's if I don't get too filled up on APA tonight!

I've got a simple cider, Berliner Weisse, Juniper Rye Pale Ale, Vanilla Porter, and an IPA to bottle this weekend. God I hate bottling. Gotta get it done for Christmas though.

First batch in my new keggle tonight! Plus, going to get to use my new corny kegs in couple weeks. Brewing up a blonde ale...aka "Suck It, Santa Anna! Ale". Yeah, i'm a Texan. lol

Just brewed my Chocolate Milk Stout on Wednesday. Hoping to put it into Secondary by next Saturday because I have a Holiday Maple Porter I am doing for a beer club event

Im going to be brewing my attempt to clone Old Dominion's Oak Barrel Stout, it will also be my first attempt at messing with water chemistry

brewed a "winter blonde" yesterday. tried to simulate a malt bill similar to a blonde bock (lower starting gravity), added some flaked oats and did some nice, late hopping on it. can't wait to drink this bad boy!

Today's lineup:
% gallons of amber/red ale by me.
10Gal of pils by my brewing buddy.
No snow today, but we had a bunch of cold rain. Oh well, at least we have 15 gallons to show for our efforts.

Tomorrow we brew our first ever kitchen sink IPA. 13 oz. of 13 kinds of old hops, from as recent as our last brew all the way to back-of-the-fridge "do I still have that?" age and from some French 1.1% thing that I forgot what I used it on to some Warrior that came in over 16% will go into an extract brew using the malt bill of Yooper's Stone Ruination clone. The calculator shows it as coming it at 155 IBU but of course it'll be a fraction of that because of the age of the hops. Just a little fun way to get rid of stuff that wouldn't otherwise be used.
