got most of my parts in today, excited to get started. the final product will be 3 taps and 1 keg carbing with a 20lb CO2 tank all inside of the freezer.

question- since all i have ever done is bottle...

do you pour straight from the carboy into the keg? what about potential sediment?

You never "pour", you either siphon as quietly as possible or use CO2 to push.
And aside from sanitation the most important thing is oxygen-avoidance.
Purging the keg of air will help avoid oxidation which can be otherwise wreak havoc.
And filling the keg through the long (beer) dip tube is a good practice...

Cheers!

Got any good links or tips on how to do the things you listed?

Siphon...Do it with a long Tube at the Bottom of the Keg and let it fill from the Bottom of a Keg..
or
Allow the Beer to fill a Sealed keg through the Out post on a Keg..Simply hook up the Line to the Outpost of the Keg..Purge the Keg ith CO2 First to displace the Oxygen..burp once in awhile as the beer fills the kegs...
