I had the pleasure of hosting my first keg party last saturday.

I have to tell you that by midnight I was sick as s dog :tank:

I think I got too excited and that kegerator silently creeped up on me and whooped my ass.

This is what you get when you don't keep track of pints and you are having a good time. :D

Nothing a fat breakfast and a few gatorades can't fix.

how about you guys?

Since I've just brewed my first home brew, any such hangovers will be ahead of me. :D

I will say I've had a few doozies, but it's really hard for me to generate much of a hangover off beer. And that's a blessing, because beer is one of God's great gifts to man! :tank:

I once had "just two beers" out of my keg (about 2 0.5L Mugs so maybe around 4 regular beers worth). I thought they tasted funny, really thick... A couple hours later my wife indicated to me (I have no memory) that I was actually laughing at her sarcastic remarks while we watched Star Trek TNG (I usually don't let her get away with this), and then also puking my guts out in the bathroom. The next thing I remember is waking up in the morning, puking more, and feeling terrible the rest of the day.
Here's what happened: the keg in the kegerator partially froze... leaving behind the super rich, super alcoholic "freeze distilled" IPA. It was probably more like 8 IPAs I had... never been sicker from homebrew. I highly don't recommend freezedistillation of homebrew.

I made the mistake of hosting a New Year's Eve party where I supplied all the beer (my homebrew). I had like 7 or 8 different batches I was serving. Everyone showed up around 7 or 8pm. By 10:30 or 11 at least half the party was sick and puking in my back yard. That was the last time I served my BMC friends my beer in any substantial quantity...

I had made a ESB that turned out really tasty. A friend drank several bottles and ended up passed out in the bed of his pickup with vomit down his shirt and a damp patch in his shorts. The high ABV beers can really sneak up on you.

For my worst, It was my first experience with Apfelwein. Darn you Edwort. That stuff is too good, and sneaky.

I made this same comment the other night - when you don't have to take cash out of your pocket for each beer they sneak up on you. 6 pints of 7.5% Double Red IPA in an evening makes that alarm clock seem like you're sleeping inside the Liberty Bell.

Friends think I'm crazy for brewing session beers, but I'm not trying to impress anybody. Anybody can add corn sugar to a kit and make racing fuel, it takes finesse to make a 4% beer worth the effort.
