What did you use for hop utilization rate?

Those calculators are a shot in the dark.

I dont know what their formula is, but really i'm just using it to acquire a ballpark, from there it's about modification by taste and as long as i use the same calculator i figure i'll be making relative adjustments.

Yes it is too big. Please send it to me, and I will send you my 20 quart pot that I almost never ever ever use. :D

I would put 6 gallons of water into the pot and bring it to a boil ... let that boil for an hour....then measure the volume that is left. That way you have a close idea of what the boil off rate is. so when you do a full boil you know to start with X amount of wort above what your final volume should be. As has been stated I wouldn't get too wrapped up in changing the hop schedule to compensate for the difference in boil volume..... Do you have a way to cool the wort quickly?
