Howdy Gang! I just bottled the European Pilsner from Midwest Supplies. The sample I took had a good aroma and pleasing taste, except the finish tasted like snow or light freezerburn. Would this be the effect of an astringent? Will this dissipate with time?

OG and FG were met according to the included pamphlet. All temperatures were in range, including the many weeks at 38F. The only thing I can think of that may have caused this is the water. I used 2 gallons of distilled water and 3 of tap. Any ideas?

My first thought is the distilled water. Distilled water has no minerals in it at all, so it tastes like . . . . .snow. I would recommend filtered water, which is what I use.
