Yea I gained 20 lbs within 3 months after i quit. Food just tasted so good again I couldnt get enough of it. Finally down to my normal weight....well my normal weight now that Im a habitual brewer

I started smoking at about age 15, by 17 I was up to a pack a day. Tried to quit a few times, but basically smoked till I was 27, and then I got a job in a smoke free building where you had to walk down stairs and out to the parking deck to smoke, so I didn't bother to smoke during the day for the first couple of days I worked there. Then about the third day on the way in, I took out a cig to smoke before I walked into the building and just had an epiphany about how stupid it was - threw the rest of the package of cigs into the garbage can and never looked back. Been smoke free for almost 13 years now, except for one time I was out at a bar and for some reason I got the idea that I wanted to smoke so I bummed one off someone - lit it up and choked, then put it out and wondered why in the hell I ever thought I wanted to start doing that again.

I quit smoking 15 minutes before I turned 40. Went well for a couple of years then so many really bad things happened in my life (deaths and family problems) that I just fell and picked it up again. I still can't smoke Marboros and the such (gag!) but I realy enjoy clove cigs. Can't wait to retire (20+ years) so I can enjoy pot again:eek:

I regularly smoke a pipe and occasionally smoke a cigar.

I don't do those froo-froo aromatics though. I tend towards Va/Pers and English blends. My current favorites are McClellands Red Cake, Bright CR Flake, and G&H's Bow-Legged Bear. BLB is really strong though. It's what I use to keep me awake at work when I can't keep my eyes open. Bright CR is more of an everyday smoke, sort of a special Virginia Flake. Red Cake is hard to explain though... it's really smooth and sweet with a sort of sugary-earthy flavor. Hard to describe, but definitely worth a taste.

I quit smoking entirely cold turkey two years ago. The single exception was a few months ago, I smoked a pretty big bowl of salvia because I've heard good things. Waste of money. :(

I quit smoking two and a half years ago. sometimes i miss it.... most times i don't. At $6.50+ per pack in Massachusetts I don't miss the hit from my bank account.

I quit 8 years ago after 19 years of it. I finally gave up Copenhagen 6 months ago. I never have missed the smoking (maybe because I still chewed) but I still miss having a dip.

I smoke, hell I'll smoke anything but crack, I truely love my lungs filled with tobacco, it's great...I wish cigs didn't have anything bad in them

I used to like to smoke but I started getting sick to my stomach after long smoking lapses.

Now I like the occasional cigar and a pipe. Most of the time the cigar is an after dinner thing. As for the pipe, I love this in the fall as an out doors thing...

I have been known to do the Clint Eastwood thing with a fresh pack of "Backwood Smokes" :rockin:

Wood matches and all.....

Cigars, Cigars, and more Cigars, and a pipe every now and then.

I really love my Humidors, I have 2 a 200 count and a 300 count, And I will be building a chest humi to age some boxes.

Also when I build my draft set up, it will have a humi built in as well.

Tim

Your avatar reminds me of something.

I am PISSED that you can't have a cigar at Williams College football games anymore. It's all outdoors (duh). I can kinda understand if you're in the stands, but even if you're just hanging around and watching the game from the sidelines (gotta love small-college football), no dice.

It's frickin' the perfect time to light up a (nice) smoke. Crisp fall air. Beautiful location. Celebratory. It's THE REASON WHY BABY JESUS MADE THE TOBACCO PLANT!

Yeah, I think it's kinda retarded you can't smoke outside in a lot of places...I understand in the stands, but c'mon!

Dennis Leary said it best..."Soon you are only going to be allowed to smoke at home, under the covers, after 9pm" or something like that
