hi guys i'm new to brewing and want to experiement with some smash recipes. Just wanted to get your opinion on what temperature I should mash these at and what you think about these 2 combos? Theses are 5 gallons:

1. 10 lbs Vienna/3 oz Amarillo - hops added - 1.5oz @ 60min/0.5oz @ 30min/0.5oz @ 5min/0.5oz @ flameout

2. 8.75lbs Marris otter/3 oz E.Kent Golings - hops added - 1 oz @ 60min/1 oz @ 20min/1 oz @ 5min

Thank you!

I've done a couple MO smashes at different temps, and my favorite by far was the one I did at 150. It was nice and dry with a slight nutty flavor. Warmer mash temp versions were good but they were just not my favorites.

I like 150-152 for the mash temp. I would also move the 30 minute hop addition to 15 minutes. You could also try hop bursting for the batch.
