1kg mild ale malt
25g admiral hops
5g at start
5g 15 minutes
5g 30 minutes
5g 45 mins

5g at end let sit for 10mins

So I made a smash :) (just 1 gallon) . I wanted to see what sort if flavour I could produce with nice simple ingredients. It went completely nuts on day 1 of fermentation and has slowed right down but is bubbling fine. Just wondering what people think of my measurements? (on the best part I just made educated but not really that educated guesses) and if anyone has made anything like it and the results they had. If it all goes wrong at least I will learn something!

Looks like about the right ratio for malt. I plugged your data into BeerSmith, it shows an expected OG of 1.057, based on 75% eff. What was your measured OG?

I'm not familiar with Admiral hops. BS shows 177 IBU, based on your schedule (assuming 14.75% AA). It'll certainly be hoppy with those high-alpha hops.

BTW, what yeast did you use?

I got a reading of 1.055 which seems alright. I used about 3G of brewferm, nothing fancy but as I'm not sure on the outcome it was the best choice.

Yea I'm not too familiar withadmiral hops myself but they smelt amazing with lots of citrus and as I love a hoppy ale I thought I'd go for it!

It's bubbling away consistently now so I think I'll remove the blow off and get an air lock on. I'll post a pic later though I'm not sure how exciting you will find it :).
