Recently purchased a Muntons Gold Docklands Porter kit. The kit comes with two cans of hopped extract, no boil needed, dry yeast packet, and makes six gallons. No additional sugar or dry malt extract is needed.

I am thinking of making 3 gallon batches at a time, one using the yeast supplied and another using different yeast. The yeast supplied is a foil packet with codes on it, not sure exactly what the yeast is.

Anyone have any experience with this? Will I have to make any adjustments to the volume I'm making?

Use the whole packet of yeast. No adjustments necessary.

I would assume it is Muntons basic yeast, a low attenuating yeast.
