I have a doubt, I recently brewed 5gal of pale ale, the problem is that I racked my batch in two different glass carboys, one of them is going perfectly, but the other one, shows little or no sign of fermentation, why is this happening?

The first three questions to come to mind are: Was the same amount of yeast pitched into both? Were both equally aerated? did you take a gravity reading from both? Are they both in the same place/same temperature?

I used only one package of yeast with my wort, the thing is that chose to do the fermentation in two separate carboys, so it is the same beer, with everything in the same amounts, I did this so the foam couldnt reach my airlocks and clog them, both of my carboys are in the same room, same conditions, they were equally aerated aswell, I brewed them three days ago, and no, I didn't took gravity readings in niether of them

Sorry for all the questions that seem like they should have obvious answers, just trying to get to the bottom of the issue. :mug: I had a similar thing happen with a 10 gallon batch of english mild that was in two fermenters about a week and a half ago. For some reason one started later, but all was well in the end. The one that started slower had a less active fermentation, and had less krausen residue, but ended with the same FG. I'd give it a couple more days and see where you're at.

Dont worry, since I am a begginer there are not such things as obvious answers to me, I try to learn as much as possible from everyone. I'm glad to hear that, makes me feel a lot better, as you said, I'll give it a couple more days and see what happens, I'll reply the results, thank you very much for your help, have a nice day
