Six gallon carboy, five gallon batch

Hi all, if I have a blow-off tube, can I ferment a five gallon batch in a six gallon carboy?

Yes, that is what I do all the time and it works great.

Yes. 6.5 even better. I usualy start with 5.25 to 5.5 gal of wort to end up with 5 in the end.

Sounds like you still need to mark the sides with some measurements.. Pain but worth it in the end.

I did my first 5g batch in a 6.5g fermenter and had no problems just using a 3-piece airlock.
