My question is, does such a recipe exist or is it a pipe dream? I like my IPA big and bold, and with Chinook hops in short supply I am looking for an alternative. Any help would be greatly appretiated..

Its not uncommon for an IPA recipe to look something like:
12-14# pale malt
1# crystal 40-60
Favorite hops at 60, 15, 5, dry hop (IBU/OG about 1)
Should make a good pale IPA that allows the hops to stand out.
I've seen all Willamette, all Chinook, all Cascades, all Centennial among others.

Yellow, several of the members here are going to be participating in a Single Malt, Single Hop experiment where we use one base grain and one hop on a standardized schedule. If you'd like to participate in the swap, consider becoming a paying member.
