Happy New Year!

Feel free to add to the list; this is a small list of things that I really enjoy:

- freshly roasted coffee (by me!)
- the smell (and taste!) of sourdough bread just out of the oven
- early morning runs with the dogs
- Saturday afternoon naps (especially when a rain is falling)
- discovering a new beer
- the smell of a mash
- the satisfaction of making something completely from scratch and calling it your own.

I will second all of the above! :mug:

-warm, comfortable, and crazy looking socks. (said simple right ;))
-A hug from my wife.
-Hugs from my kids and hearing them say they love me.

- a 70 degree, sunshiny day with a light breeze to blow my hair
- ocean breeze smell and sound
- the sound of tree leaves rustling
- old people telling dirty jokes

Seeing my girls sing "Dancing Queen" from Mama Mia at the top of their lungs with made-up dance moves. They had apparently been working hard on the routine while I was away.

That's awesome, Ed! I'm sure just coming home to see your wife and girls after being away in Toronto is a pleasure all of its own.

I forgot to mention that. Going away blows, coming back rocks. They ran outside in their bare feet yesterday (it was 28 degrees) when I pulled in the driveway. Awesome.:rockin:

- Easy to make joke posts.

+1 to all the above.

Roasted veggies of just about any kind.
Feeling a fish bite, especially the first one of the season.
My daughter calling to say, "I wanted to tell you I Love you".
Making things by hand.
Country music on a long solo motorcycle ride.

shecky, i'll counter your waking up with:

- sleeping in

also:

- hot homemade stew on a chilly evening
- nature shows while smoking on a relaxing sunday afternoon (yesterday while brewing)
- family visits (my dad comes to town on wednesday)

And I'll counter your family visits with:

- my family returning to its respective homes

also:

- the sound of silence
- a peanut butter cookie

- that whooshy pop sound that a tennis ball container makes when you first open it
- popping bubble wrap (or those bubble bags and scaring the crap out of someone who wasn't expecting it)

Going up north to visit the family
seeing my niece
going back down south to get away from the family
Moms home cooking
disc gold, some friends, and a back back full of beer
fishing off the pier at night.

and i'll counter your sound of silence with

- the sound of heavy metal :p

and that peanut butter cookie better be a girl scout. it's not the best unless it's loaded with trans fat :D

i'll also add:

- quiet days at work (i'm all alone in the warehouse, but the day is slow and there is only one shipment. this is nice.)

Oh, oh, now I have to agree with you again. I love the sound of metal (though my version of metal is quite different than yours, I bet:D)

I'll consider that peanut butter cookie line your official order from my Girl Scout daughter. They'll be on their way in a few weeks.

Hey, if you're taking orders.....

Not many Girl Scouts around here.

- Thin Mints out of the freezer.
