I just use Sharpie marker, but I also mark out my target volumes with o-rings I slide up and down the tube (pre boil target, post-boil target, etc)
 
perfect..thx! And nice idea with the o-rings for targets as well.
 
Interesting that the picture in the OP is actually the numbers I sell on my site. That keg was the one I setup in the video on my instructions page.

Sharpie is cheap, but it's not very easy to make look good. I mean, come on, it's 2 bucks a strip for the vinyl numbers.
