I went to a new LHBS today with the recipe for Sierra Nevada's Torpedo: (out of BYO 250 Classic Clone Recipes).
I want to try to brew this beer as a 2.5 gallon BIAB batch, so I gave the clerk the recipe and asked to have it divided in half & mill it twice.
The recipe for 2.5 gallons:
7lbs Pale Malt
5.5oz caramel malt 60L
.6 oz Magnum - 60min
.5 oz Magnum - 5 min
.5 oz Crystal - 5 min
.33 oz Magnum - DH
.33 oz Crystal - DH
.33 oz Citra - DH
Mash @ 152F; Boil for 90 mins.
The problem is that it appears the clerk milled 7 lbs pale & 5.5LBS Caramel 60L together.
So, is there anything I can do with this 12.5# of double milled grain?
I plug this recipe into tastybrew and get this:
Low High
OG 1.050 1.134 1.075
FG 1.012 1.034 1.016
IBU 40 12 60+
SRM 8 44 14
ABV 5 12.9 7.8
