New to this forum and beer making. Working on a true brew
porter. Specific Gravity is 1.021 after 8 days.

Directions say it should be between 1.012 and 1.016. Am I close enough, or should i re-pitch the yeast.
If so, what yeast should I use. Much thanks.

Most likely that's just about where it will stop, and that's fine. Knowing the OG, recipe and mash schedule would help to firm that up. If you want to do an experiments to find out if that really is the final gravity then you could do a fast ferment test or chromatography.

It's probably done, I wouldn't repitch. What was the recipe/mash schedule?

It'll be a bit sweeter than you intended but it'll still be good. Are you bottling? If you are, I'd wait a bit (5 days) & see if it drops more. If you keg, have at it (no bottle bombs to worry about).

8 days isn't very long. I go 14-21 days minimum generally.

Post the recipe/mash schedule if you have it, that'll give everyone more info to help you out.
