I have a Haier 5 cu ft. freezer (basically same as the one Lowe's sells-Holiday)which I am painting with chalkboard paint. It is all white and has white handles on the side of the lid and the white plastic section that seals the gasket. Do you think I should sand and paint these sections as well? I don't really want them to be the only white section on the keezer, but I want some opinions. I have looked at many others but I don't want to build a collar or another lid either. Thanks.

ps. I can't upload pics at work so here is a link of the freezer in question.

I'm not real good at this sort of thing, but I think painting the handles would work. But I think that paint around the edge that holds the seal will eventually crack and peel. IMO, it wouldn't look bad with just a 1 inch white band around the top where the seal is.

I'm in agreement with Reelale, the gasket will look good left white and you won't have to worry about it. Just got my kegerator together, used the chalkboard paint on on side and the freezer door, that paint is kinda grainy make sure you have it stirred up real well. Granted I work in a cabinet shop and painted mine in the spray booth with a gun and had to water it down to get it through the gun.

Chalkboard
Put it behind the freezer

Well here is the reason for the chalkboard. I am putting this downstairs just inside from our patio. I have 2 girls, 1 and 3, that play inside with friends sometimes as the adults are on the patio. This way they can draw all over it for fun and I can write the name of the beer on top. I wanted to do an enclosure with nice wood but finances won't allow it.
