Shiner Beers, of Shiner, Texas, is now 100 years old. It started in 1909 as The Shiner Brewing Association. In 1914 Kosmos Spoetzl opened Shiner Beers brewery in Shiner, Texas. "Every drop of Shiner beer is brewed in Shiner."

Shiner offers the following beers. Each one is GREAT!

Shiner Bock (the beer that stole me away from MGD)
Shiner Blonde
Shiner Bohemian Black Lager (damn fine!)
Shiner Hefeweizen
Shiner Light
Shiner Holiday Cheer
Shiner Kölsch (not presently on their site though)

They have also put out a commemorative beer each year since 1996. I am so looking for a mix pack with each one in it.

Here's to a century of independent brewing! :mug:

I always pass by their brewery when I go hunting. Most of their stuff is better than BMC, but nothing really that makes me go Oh Wow!

The Shiner black lager is excellent in chili.

I still haven't tried the Shiner 100 yet. I really need to. But lately I've only been buying pry-off bottles so I can reuse them.
