I'm making a beer for my BIL's wedding. Just for him, and his pals, not for the reception party.

I wanted to put this line of text in the back of the bottle.... SWMBO had a fit!!! - Said it was sexist & demeaning. If so, I was never my intention.

Honeymoon Tradition:
Long ago couples would hide away for one full moon, due to the brides family having 2nd thoughts. Upon their return the bride would be pregnant making the union permanent. During this time the grooms party would drink honey mead (honey-wine) with the belief that it would ensure male offspring. It was customary that the brides father would supply the mead and upon child birth the mead maker would be congratulated!

The front is simple, a blue sky, mountain backdrop. titled " Congrats Wedding Ale"

The beer is a Honey Kolsch. Simple beer for a Bud light drinker.

What do you think was she right or unhinged?

If you think she's wrong show me something REALLY sexist & demeaning :D - Thanks!!

Yah... I thought that was pretty clear. Frankly, I thought it was pretty cool.

I paraphrased this from that website & Chucks book, TNCJOHB.

Bring her to the SEWAGE trip to Miller Park . . . or pay up to be a premium member, plenty of stuff here to show her the true meaning of the phrase

I don't see the words 'bang' or 'whore' in there, I think it's fine.

LMAO

I don't get what is sexist in that description either

....maybe its that you drink honey wine for a male offspring and you made a honey ale and she wants to conceive a baby girl first???

That might be part of it. SWMBO wants to have a baby and can't. It's been almost 6 years of trying. It suggests a fact of life that men want to have sons. Flip that around most women want daughters.

This describes the meaning of the honeymoon. How many people know this?

This particular aspect isn't about the women anyhow. Its really just a gift more or less for him. (How many kitchen gadgets will they get?) I don't know if she even drinks. This is the way I see it, they are gonna go on their honeymoon, Hawaii for a week, then come home to all the wedding gifts & cards to sort through. He'll probably enjoy these after he gets back. The wedding is in August. The honey kolsch should be quite good then.

I could include some of Edwort Apfelweins for his SWMBO. :D

BTW this isn't the only gift they are getting from us. SWMBO will go out and get something and they will also get a check w/ a card too.

Why don't you actually make them a bottle of mead for their honeymoon? I've got a pretty good one after four months, which is when you said their wedding was. Maybe that description might fit better on the back of a bottle of actual honey wine, seeing as how that's what it's talking about.

Then again, I might not know what I'm talking about, seeing as how I've just had a few "quality control" glasses of the aforementioned mead ;)

sounds like you have a firecracker on your hands!! :)

Is she the same one that slaps you every time you say... "Rule of Thumb"??

She gets so pissed when I say "Broad" - even better "Dumb Broad"

Usually occurs while driving. Hehehe!!! :rockin:
