I pretty much have separate everything for my wild beers except for my Fast Racks.

I use them for both to drain empty bottles but to also drain buckets, racking canes, spigots etc after sanitizing them.

So if I use my Fast Racks for draining my wild beer equipment is this a possible contamination problem when I use my Fast Racks with Clean Beer Plastic equipment.

I've had similar questions on how much of a risk is it to share equipment that hasn't had a long, thorough exposure (like siphon tubing). If I rack fresh wort from the kettle into a dirty sour carboy, is there a danger if that tubing brushes against some trub and then gets cleaned within minutes? I assume not, because there isn't a food source, but I dunno

I have also wondered about drying "sour" vs "clean" equipment on the same rack

Are you doing a solera?

I have the best juju when I keep anything post boil separate. Except kegs. I just clean them thoroughly. I have separate fermenters, transfer/bottling tubing, bottle fillers because all that stuff is cheap.

No solera, but I've done 3 batches in a row in the same fermentors without cleaning and on this last one I touched my "clean" hose to the carboy, by accident, racking from the kettle. I cleaned it right after racking. I assume it's fine, but I wondered

I have separate plastic everything for the most part, but I have the same question as the OP about drying everything on the same rack

Sorry to go off topic, but as far as kegging, do you have a dedicated tap line for your wild brews? I wouldn't put a sour on tap, but I've wondered about putting Brett through a clean line. I only have 2 taps and I can't afford to dedicate one to wilds

No dedicated line or faucet. I run pbw and sanitizer through after. I've honestly never though I needed a drying rack for everything. It wouldn't do me much good these days anyway.

My original point was there's no way for contaminates to transfer up into a plastic bucket or carboy.

That's good to know on the tap lines and faucet not being a problem.

I understand that bacteria and yeast can't crawl, but I wondered about direct contact. I dry everything on the same rack/shelf that I store my kettles, and I've taken to drying the "dirty" equipment on a separate shelf. I also store the clean and dirty equipment in separate bins, just to be extra cautious. It's a bit of an inconvenience, but I'm a little paranoid about cross contamination.

I'm with the OP on wondering whether direct contact between clean and dirty plastic pieces poses a problem
