Hey all,

I'm looking at developing content for craft brew / beer making.

I'm looking for someone that would be willing to JV with me and provide all the content necessary to write a book on this subject.

My forte is online marketing and I specialize in distributing content and am an SEO guru. I want to get this done within a 3 month period

Any takers!?

Regards

Domenic Curko

Wait a minute. You want someone to provide ALL the content to write a book (and write the book) and your forte is "marketing"? And have this book ready in 3 months?

HAHAHAHA.

There is already quite a glut of brewing books on the market that are pretty good, and a great book competing with them is going to take more than 3 months to write. Just a chapter on "water" requires a ton of research, data, and permission from experts to use their spreadsheets.

We already have plenty of opportunities to write for publications if we want (BYO and Zymurgy), and writing a book is NOT easy.

Your schtick is that someone else will do all of the work. But you are good with marketing? Hardly sounds like a JV to me.

Don't be surprised if people don't line up by the hundreds to take you up on the "offer".

My problem is I don't even know what JV or SEO means . . . apparently, I'm not a guru ;)

Not sure what JV is, but SEO means Search engine optimization..Also, I'll have the forward done in a couple of days....:D

Their has been more strange threads lately, where the OP starts a thread and never posts again..Then 100 posts of nothin..

I hope he is better at marketing than he is at editing

Guru's = possessive

gurus = plural

I think I smell a troll...

IMO, before you even think about making a NEW book, you should read over the ones already available. They cover a great deal, and forums cover pretty much anything not found in them (or information updates). IMO, doing even a cursory information search would have provided this, so the OP wouldn't have even posted. Then again, that post does reek of troll.

how much money? royalties?

Here's your content:

Take barley. Malt it.

Crack it. Add water. Mash it. Add more water. Drain it.

Boil the drainings. Add hops.

Cool. Add yeast.

Ferment. Package. Drink.

Now where's my share, plus bonus for being 3 months ahead of schedule? :fro:

Oh, wait, you wanted some at least marginally new, original, and meaningful content not already available in multitudes of other books in 3 months with me doing all the work? Sorry, can't help you there.

Hey Yooper,

First off, I love beer and i drink it all the time.

Secondly, i have a deeply embedded respect for craft and skill and for people that share my interests.

Thirdly, i drink beer varieties from all over the world and if this forum or app is all about talking and sharing ideas ( and love) for beer then I can't understand why guys would jump at an opportunity to trounce me and instead " talk" about cool ideas and want to collaborate .

Being arrogant and suggesting that I ( beer lover and fanatic) am anything other than that
And by you stating: ("We already have plenty of opportunities to write for publications if we want (BYO and Zymurgy), and writing a book is NOT easy.)

By the way, writing a book based on raw data , turning into a pleasant reading format , probably done in a humorous way is not " easy" and by publishing and optimizing search for that book to sell all over the planet is certainly not "easy". In fact it requires skill and alot of "man" hours.

The easy part sir, would be to collaborate and detail cool ideas/ recipes like you said .....but wait a minute...

You are correct...

Content is available for free on many other forums .. And online .

Pity that people are short sighted. Because now I'm the only one that will make money.

Oh snap. I guess he told you.
That's it, opportunity gone forever.

I guess when someone asks another person to provide all the content for a book, so they can market it, it comes across as shallow. If you think there is value to a certain type of beer making book, and are serious, then I would suggest you offer up a "hook" as for what will help it sell and what new content you expect from a book. Asking for someone else to write it and split proceeds on he marketing side is pretty short sighted and I am surprised that you can't see it from a skeptic's angle. You have offered nothing outside of a marketing campaign with zero details and only ask that someone else provide all the content. I guess there is a sucker born every minute, just not around here.

Domenic, I am happy to be able to contact you.

I am Prince Fayed W. Bolkiah, the eldest son of Prince Jeffrey Bolkiah former finance minister of Brunei, the tiny oil-rich sultanate on the Gulf Island of Borneo. I save your time by not amplifying my extended royal family history, which has already been disseminated by the international media during the controversial dispute that erupted between my father and his stepbrother, the sultan of Brunei Sheik Muda Hassanal Bolkiah.

As you may know from the international media,The sultan had accused my father of financial mismanagement and impropriety of us$14.8 billion dollars this was as a result of the Asian Financial crisis that made my father company Amedeo Development Company and government owned Brunei investment company to be declared bankrupt during his tenure in the office. However my father was kept under house arrest, his bank account and private properties including a crude oil export refinery were later confiscated by the sultanate to avoid further prosecution from the sultan and his security operatives, but before I could do that I was placed under house arrest by the sultan and not have access to phone but I have a palm V hand -held computer from which I am sending you this mail. Some of the guard here are still loyal to me, so they would be my contact with you if there is any documents I need to send to you to enable you have access to this funds and invest it for me.

Before my in-castration, I went ahead to dispatch the sum of five undred million United States Dollars {USD$500,000,000.00} in cash under special arrangement into the custody of different private Banks and trust company's for safe keeping abroad. The money was split and kept in the following countries, : in Canada, France, Spain, Holland andin London. Firstly, a cashiers check must be dispatched by you for an amount of USD$1000 so that I can have the account numbers released by a London attorney handling the deposit. Secondly, you will be required to travel to London to claim the money there before proceeding to other countries.

I seek your good assistance to invest these funds into a profitable investment in your country to facilitate future survival for my family abroad. After due deliberation with my aids we decides to offer a certain percentage to you as compensation for your co-operation and kind sincerity to carry out this assignment.

Since there will be an expenditure from your side, I will advice you not to worry about it because you will be reimburse any amount you may spend as to enable this transaction get to it's final dream, for both local and international expenses will be given to you back while you will be part of the beneficiary of any investment made with this cash, to add to that, I will like to let to your understand that all this is not part of your financial compensation that will be given to you.

my friends I present you with the lamest meme of all time, the domenic curko.

I wonder if it will catch on.

has it occurred to you (possibly) that there might be one, or perhaps two, others in here with the marketing acumen, technical skill, and background to do exactly this same thing, who also happen to be home brewers?

only difference is that we come here as hobbyists, and for fun, and not to bad mouth one of the most knowledgeable (and nicest) people in here.

wth makes you so special?

anyway... go ahead and manage your content.

ps... merry christmas

Way to go schmuck.

Well at least it's a new twist on the "I have a great idea for a new beer, but can you please give me all the money, knowledge and expertise I need to try and sell it?" thing that we usually see.

The fact that there is a typo in the OP's title probably means they wouldn't be able to edit the book, either.

One would swear i was asking for the cure for cancer!!!
The secret underground nefarious world of beer making .... ???
Guys it friggin beer making!? I was asking if there was anyone willing to offer assistance on writing a small handbook in this subject that I happen to enjoy .. The content would only be given to me after a JV agreement was signed. I'm a marketer..I hire a ghost writer to write / edit content i get. Probably wouldn't even sell !!

Jesus!! All the haters out there .... Carry on making beer in your moms basements.

Obviously the wrong place, obviously the wrong group, obviously a stupid idea....

Dude, I'm actually honestly wanting to partner with someone. Obviously it's a bad idea , seems to be a sensitive subject... It's just beer making man, not anything serious. I was not expecting anyone to write it, I was just interested in the idea of utilizing some ' possibly ' good info and turning into something with the help of someone that knows the technical side of beer making. I know the technical side of marketing so it could be a good synergy. People automatically just assume that it's all bad ... Anyway , I probably should just stuck to drinking beer and stop trying to make it more open to the general public by producing something cool. Bad idea.

The fact that you don't see anything wrong with asking for speaks volumes about your character. If you've not even brewed before do so BEFORE you start asking.
