Here for a SMaSH'ing good time!
I have a super sour brewing in my primary and initially I was planning on moving to a secondary for a cherry puree addition. However, I have a 6.5 gallon carboy and I have just under 5 gallons of beer in the primary. The headspace worried me and then it came to me; why can't I use 5 one gallon water jugs for my secondary? The ones I am planning to use are food safe and it would allow me to a) remove a decent amount of headspace as well as b) allow me to make 5 different versions of the same base sour.
Any experience or thought about this?
