Line update?! o_O
roHOgxx.jpg

Just me and kitteh so far.

Dayum, last yr I showed up an hour and a half before tickets went on sale and missed out by a couple peepz. This yr I just didn't give a ****. Either the Zwanze hype died down this yr or #sports matter more. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I took my kid to the Puyallup Fair and now I'm home drinking fresh hops and watching the Hawks game. I ain't sad about missing out on Zwanze Day at all.

I still miss Zwanze at Brouwers, though. Such a low-key well run event.

No line to buy tickets right now; ~40 left.

I really figured this yr's line was going to be an absolute shitshow, so my line update question was initially made in jest. Glad I asked tho. Friend of mine walked right in and grabbed a pair. Maybe I'll see some of you #chuckledicks next Sunday!

Oh, and what's this Cantillon beer all about?!?! If I'm into kettle sours will I enjoy this event?

Damn – guess I'll be breaking my Zwanze streak this yr. Still in NY, landing in Seattle on Thursday, so no tickets.

Pleasantly surprised at the line. It was like before the dark times. Apparently there were at least several people lined up at like 8am. But I got there at 12:45 and there only ~20 people there. Then Ken started the ticket sales at 1:15 since it was starting to sprinkle and the Seahawks game was starting. So really only ~30 minutes in line and a nice JW Lee's Sherry waiting inside for me afterward.

Looking forward to Saturday!

A good friend who is now a bartender at Slow Boat walked over from his house and got me the last two tickets.

I was honestly shocked when I heard that the tickets weren't all sold to line-waiters. Football really does take precedence over almost anything eh? Even rare beer.

Looking like I'm getting sent up there in a few weeks to spend 2 nights (10/10-10/12). Probably going to be stationed in the Olympia area but I'll be mobile. Never been up there before. What do I need to hit?

Matchless in Tumwater and Three Magnets in Olympia. Engine House No. 9 in Tacoma if you have time.

Just need to shout out Ken at Slow Boat Tavern for hooking me up with a glass of this yr's Zwanze after seeing me in my Bokkereyder shirt earlier today, even though I didn't have a ticket and came at 230p. Also gave me a gueuze glass and event mug– jeez. Super nice guy with an amazing bar, and even greater staff! Awesome meeting everyone I talked to. Thanks a lot for the PNW hospitality y'all!

Nice! I spotted your shirt too.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.

I got here last Sunday about 1pm, assumed I'd be too late for Zwanze tickets and only just reading up - sounds like I could easily have gotten one now. Gutted. First one I've missed in 6 years.

Loving the beer scene here already. Even though I've been here before for work, it's still a shock finding just-canned fresh IPA in chillers in pretty much every store. (In a nice way)

I left the Slow Boat around 2, shortly after they opened to the public. Pretty sure everything was still pouring. I'll be back next Sunday for the Holy Mountain/Burial event.

Also wanted to pimp the Burial (North Carolina) events around the city this week:

Wednesday @ Chucks CD
Thursday@ Pine Box
Sunday @ Slow Boat

I'm gonna try to head to Pine Box; been following Tim for a while on Instagram and excited to try his beers and say hello.

Yo guize!

I'll be in town Saturday for Gorillaz and will be hitting Cloudburst and Holy Mountain during the day if anyone wants to have a drink and play some Sushi Go.

Hey - i'll be in Seattle for Thanksgiving week around Capital Hill. Any places that are recommended? Also, are there any places that will have Bourbon County on Black Friday?

Pine Box is a great spot. Chuck's Central District too. Not far from each other.

All the Total Wines usually have BCBS and some variants.

Pine Box and Stumbling Monk for beer. Both on the Hill and close to each other. Chuck's CD will get BCBS but will likely be limit 1 on all bottles. You can find it by the case at some Safeways, though.
