I like Old Stove a lot, too. Nice to have another option down around the market.

I guess I do go downtown for Cloudburst ever so often, but all their beers show up around me (Green Lake, NE Seattle) so it's more for visiting the brewery more than anything.
I really enjoyed Cloudburst, but that market scene is too much for me. Predictably, everyone told me "oh you have to go to the market! It's great!"

I spent about 10 minutes there and had to bail. Way too many people for my taste.

Thankfully Cloudburst isn't in the center of that. And there's a damn good sandwich shop not to far from it.

If you're ever interested in the best market route shoot me a PM. Perhaps it's not worth another shot, but I'm down there a lot and I loathe crowds so I have a feeling my stops may be of interest.

Very excited for the new Old Stove space in the MarketFront expansion project, which will develop the last piece of land around the market (between Western Ave, Victor Steinbrueck Park, and where the Viaduct current is). The western wall of the taproom will be an 80 foot long glass wall overlooking Elliot Bay.

So much of the market also depends on season, day, and time of day. Walked through there plenty of times of wintery weekdays and its empty. Plus Le Pichet is my favorite restaurant in Seattle and is right there.

No Anchor is close by too and worth a stop. Good (although pricey) food and always excellent tap list.

Edit: only been to these places separately, but you could do a pretty easy walk from Cloudburst -> No Anchor -> Teku Tavern (worst bar name ever) -> The Masonry -> Holy Mountain

Pretty sure you're talking to me, but the reply button is your friend.

figured we were all talking about the same subject so...
Just confusing because you quoted someone else in one of your responses, then didn't quote me. I'm only slightly busting your balls since this thread doesn't have a ton of traffic so it's easy to follow along, but was also providing friendly advice since I don't recognize your user name/avatar.

Meh.
Oh and while its far away from most of Seattle's beer scene, Slow Boat Tavern is my favorite beer bar in the city, by a long shot.
Double meh.

I know I'm in the minority on this opinion but I'm not a fan of either. No Anchor is pretentious, boring, and expensive. Slow Boat is far away, boring, and expensive.

Clearly they're both doing something right since NA was nominated for a James Beard award and Sloe Boat is hosting Orval Day/landed Zwanze less than a year after opening.

really enjoying the Beer Tasting Seattle Facebook group lately, especially when midwesterners show up just to talk about the secondary market.

BTS is a bit of a humble brag hug box at times but there's something I like about it. The out of towners joining for trade purposes is funny.

Holy crap. I need that in my life.

I'm sure you all know this already, but Maritime Pacific is a terrible brewery. Stumbled across it while walking around, and I couldn't finish the sampler platter I got. Easily the worst beer I've had in years.

Pineapple Coconut was on back in January/February. Yum.

I haven't been to Martime in a couple years, but I was kinder to it than you.

If Fair Voyage (JK/Fair Isle collab) is indicative of what they are going to be putting out, the PNW just got a bit more wealthy in beer options.

Maritime has its place as one of two breweries in the area with a real food menu. The food truck scene is a bubble I can't wait to burst.

Really? Their food was terrible as well. I'd way rather eat at whatever cart is at Reuben's.

Big news guys. Belltown Brewing is officially open!!! The title all makes sense now....

Speaking of horrible breweries (dat transition doe), why is everyone talking up Urban Family lately? It appears they got a new head brewer in January but this has to be FAKE NEWS. Right?

Yep. Fake news. Fake fake fake. I've been doing nothing but spouting fake news about UF for over a year now.

Excuse me while I drink all the Juice Fountain.
