this might sound like an odd question, but, I was grabbing a new Scotch Brite sponge (coarse green on one side, and yellow sponge on the other) from my kitchen and I noticed on the packaging that it says (do not use on stainless appliances, may scratch) Should I be conserned about it putting scratches in my keggle's? I've used them befor, but is there something else I should be using... I figure any scratches are more places for bad stuff to grow....

I suspect that warning is aimed at actually using it on the exterior of stainless steel appliances, which would show even mild scuffing. I use green scrubbies all the time on kettles and kegs...

Cheers!

...and since you're BOILING the liquid in your potentially scratched keggles, all is still well in the universe. ;)

They just don't want anyone complaining because the highly polished surface on their fridge or coffee pot got scuffed. As far as my boil pot, the pot I use for an HLT, etc., I just scrub away......and those yellow / green Scotchbrite™ pads are all I use.

I bought like a 20-pack of yellow microfiber cloths from Lowe's that I use to clean all my gear - kettle, plastic buckets, etc. I use them for cleaning and for wiping dry...I have so many that once I accumulate a bunch of dirty ones, they just go in the wash.

this. if you have a mirror finish on your pot, it could put scratches into it. if you dont care, then it doesnt matter.
