Disclaimer: I live in a largish City with a big multicultural influence. I also live relatively near a portugese section of town.

I went into a wine supply store that has no online storefront and I found the following things at prices that blew my mind compared to my LHBS.

crown caps, gold only 3.99/150 compared to 7.99 for 144
lalvin ec1118 65 cents compared to 2.49
200G yeast nutrient 2.99 compared to 60 grams (2 Oz) 3.79
1 gallon growler with plastic cap 3.50 compared to 7.49 plus cap bought separately 79

I was amazed at the price differential, but some things were the same price, like airlock/bung combinations.

so if you have a wine supply/u brew store, even if you're brewing with ale yeast, give it a look, you may find some interesting prices.

That, combined with apple juice on sale .80 for 950ml made me a happy brewer this weekend.

I've noticed that a lot of home brew stores have low prices on specific items (yeast and airlocks), but higher on others. I personally like the convenience of Midwest Supplies, except for pricing on heavy items, it's usually the easiest and pretty much cheapest way for me to go.

Also no sales tax (except of course everyone pays them at end of year) and they offer their midwest points program for cashback.
