saving yeast

I just moved a Oberon clone into secondary and I am thinking of doing another one in the near future. Can I save the yeast cake and put it into a half gallon carboy and put it in the fridge? Or am I better off buying another yeast vile and doing a starter at the start of the next batch?

Thanks I was wondering what yeast washing was. I did not do that I just saved the stuff at the bottom in a sanatized half gallon but now I will know how to do it right the next time.
