I just brewed today and saved some second running a for yeast starters. The specific gravity of the saved wort is 1.019......pretty low. How long would I need to boil to get to 1.035-1.040? Any ideas? Thanks for the opinions!

It depends on your volume and evaporation rate.

Use a wide pot and turn the stove's overhead fan on for quickest evaporation. I can boil a gallon down to half in around 15-20 minutes. The last few points go the fastest, so keep an eye on it or you'll be making a Scottish Ale. :D

You could weigh instead of taking gravity or volume readings.
