Need some insight from those of you with an aptitude for Physics! I have a carbonated Pils in a Corny (doubling as a bright tank since I added gelatin) that I need to transfer over to a sixtel as a thank your for a friend (I just bought an American Keg Co, my first venture with Sanke’s), I came across a MM fill coupler but my question/concern is the coupler’s liquid port is significantly larger than the liquid line from my Corny keg. I had a hose reducer splicer on hand and came up with this connection (3/16 hose from corny to 3/8 hose into sixtel), that said will I have any fill/foam issues due to the hose diameter difference using this to fill the Sanke? My LHBS has 3/16" tail pieces but not anything with the base diameter that fits with this coupler so hence my rig...

Thanks!

You want to carb the sanke keg to 1-2 psi less than the corny keg. Keep the corny hooked up to CO2 to maintain the pressure in the corny. When you connect/start the flow from the corny it will flow until the pressures equalize. Once this happens crack the valve on the gas input on your sanke coupler (typically best to have a hose going into a bucket), which will resume flow until the corny is empty/keg is full. This is basically how you would fill a keg off a brite tank in a commercial brewery

Yes, the Pils in the Corny has been carbed and I sanitized the Sixtel. Any sugestion on pressurizing the Sixtel...do I hit it with 12psi of CO2 prior to the transfer attempt and then just crack open the gas valve on the fill coupler to offgas while I transfer (at 3-4psi)?

Thanks TallDan...didn't know such a piece connected but when it comes back in stock will definitely order one!
Fingers crossed for this go round.
