Hey,

I'm making a starter (and I must admit, it's been a while). All I need to sanitize is my airlock because I'm cooking directly in the 1000ml flask. This leaves me to the air lock.

I don't want to have to mix up a batch Iodopher, just for the airlock.

Anyone have any suggestions?

When I make a starter in a 1000ml flask, I just put foil over it and leave it on. It will sanitize during the boil and it will let any CO2 vent while keeping bad air out.

No need for an airlock if you do it this way.

Thank you Mr. Apfelwein :tank: Never thought about that...I guess enough CO2 is escaping to prevent anything from coming in?
