hi there..
i'm about to bottle my IPA, so cold crashed my 3Gal overnight, but.. forgot to take the airlock out!
for the airlock.. i had a short hose running into a glass bottle with about a pint of steraliser solution.. so when i went to bottle thismorning, i noticed its sucked about half a pint / maybe 250ml of steraliser solution up the hose and into the beer. :(
i'm now wondering if this'll kill me, and i should bin the whole thing, or if it'll be fine..
the seteraliser solutoin, was 3% hydrogen peroxide, which i diluted 30ml per Liter of water. So, i'd estimate, about cap ful / 10ml, of the 3% steraliser solution is now in my carboy..
questions - how long does hydrogen peroxide take to turn ito oxygen? ie, will it just evaporate over the 3 weeks of carbonating?
or, if not, will 10ml of this stuff in 10L of beer be halmful for me? or cause off tastes?

i think i'll bottle it, and see how it turns out.. but any advice much apreciated cos i dont want to be sicker than i have to ;) cheers, ben.

I've never encountered a challenge like yours, but if I did I'd likely relax and continue with the brew. Let's see how it goes. If all goes well, let me know and I might add peroxide to my grain bill. ;)

P.S. People use hydrogen peroxide for brushing their teeth. Drinking it is not as good for you, however, it takes a bit more than what you're talking about to do any serious harm. Here's an article that might calm you a bit http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2658134/

a little update... i drank it anyway - didn't drink large volumes in one sitting, and i think effected a few of the flavours. but hey.. i survived :mug:

There couldn't have been too much peroxide in there if the yeast survived to carbonate the bottles!
