Trying out a brewing kit my girlfriend got me for christmas. Have done lots of research and followed directions, sanitized the hell out of everything, etc etc etc.

While cooling the wort in an ice bath, two pieces of walmart ice splashed into the wort. i almost cried. am i right to be worried or should i be ok?

Normally I would say you would be fine...

but walmart ice throws it all off!

Just kidding. I wouldn't worry too much!

Its not ideal, but it is most likely fine. Bacteria wouldnt have any reason to hang out in any large amount on ice. Relax.

Just my amature 2cents ; You should worry about bigger things :) and if the wort was still pretty hot it I'd wory even less.....

one of my first batches I was cooling in the kitchen sink with cold running water (it flows from one basin to the other then drains)...well I learned a lesson in buoyancy and when I left the room for a few mins the pot floated and moved right under the tap water. Beer was quite a bit lighter In abv from the city water dilution but came out fine.

Awesome. Thanks guys, I'll sleep easier tonight.

I'm excited to join the home brew community. Everything I've seen so far is very positive. Lots of nice people with boatloads of knowledge eager to share.

Everyone here is (mostly) pretty cool! When in doubt, a big saying around here is "Relax, don't worry, have a home brew". You can do a million different things wrong but still end up with drinkable beer in the end :)

Don't worry. I brewed my first 10 batches without even sanitizing, I just used One Step. I thought that was the only step that I needed. I never had an infection.

This Walmart?
