Ok I tried to hold off on asking this.
I searched around, and read what I could, so I'm definitely not, "worried." I'm just anxious to take a reading, and get a sample since my wine thief finally arrived today... LHBS didn't have them for a while and ordered on line...
So I brewed/pitched a Saison a little over 2 weeks ago (15 days) Used Wyeast 3724 with a 1.5l starter (with a stir plate.)
So after a few days of Krausen it dropped down and left me with a thin skin of bubbly... goo (pics bellow) Although it's kind of hard to see it in my pics, from reading HBT it looks similar to some other posts I've seen where people say it's normal (so I'm not worried...)
So long post short... Do I sample through the goo, or should I wait until it starts o sink in a bit more? Will it sink in, or will this goo kind of remain?
I want to take a sample- but should I be a little more patient and wait another week, or is it safe to dip my wine thief through there to grab a sample?
(By safe I mean is there definitely still fermentation going on, as opposed to safe to ingest...)
