was looking for recipes for this and haven't had a lot of luck. the commercially available stuff i really like and would be stoked to make at home. anybody got a recipe for this?

thanks.

erik

i think that it's really new. i like it a lot more than some of their other lighter, blander beers. this has certainly got a nice hoppy zing to it.

Yes, it's really new. You can only get it in the Summer mixer 12 packs right now.

Overall I personally thought it was fairly average. Had a deep copper color and balanced hop/malt profiles but to me it didn't have that big fresh hop aroma that I look for in an IPA.

Agreed, I'd def. still order it over a lot of stuff.

I'm sad to see the Noble Pils gone already, that was their best seasonal in quite some time.

I just had one and was looking on here to see if anyone had a clone yet. Very balanced. Very good. According to their website:

Original Gravity: 14.8° Plato

Alcohol by Vol/Wt: 5.8% ABV

Malt Type: Two-row Harrington, Metcalfe, and Copeland pale malts, Caramel 60, and Gambrinus Honey Malt

Hop Variety: Hallertau Mittelfrueh Noble hops, East Kent Goldings, Zeus, Simcoe®, and Ahtanum (The beer is dry hopped with Ahtanum, Simcoe®*, and East Kent Goldings)

This is word for word off thier site.

Its more malty than hoppy. But I thought it had a good balance and was a decent beer.
But if you are expecting a big hop flavor, this isnt it!

this is a great beer, quite surprised. i don't think it's supposed to be an IPA.

it reminds me of a low abv english barleywine.

how do you mean? it says it's an IPA.

it is pretty tasty, a little too much caramel for my tastes, but a good beer overall. seems more like an english IPA.

Here's what I wrote on another thread:

The bigger, hoppier IPA arms race is leaving me a little burned out. Nowadays the lines between IPA, IIPA, and DIPA are blurred at best. I find myself increasingly looking for a nice, easy drinking IPA. I had some Harpoon IPA the other day and found that quite satisfying. I'm going to rediscover Flying Dog IPA which I quit buying a while back when I got swept up in the arms race. Biggest surprise for me in a while was the Sam Adams Latitude 48 IPA. Complete lack of a big, floral hop bomb at the end makes it completely unlike any IPA I've had. While I usually like the hop crescendo, I found myself really savoring the complex bitterness of the Latitude 48. I'd like to see the hop schedule on this beer, as it really has me thinking I've been concentrating on the flavor/aroma end of the spectrum and not making the most of the possibilities on the bitterness/flavor end with my homebrews.
