So I broke out bottles of Sam's Double White, Dopplebock and Wee Heavy tonight to give em a go.

The Dopplebock and Double White were both ok, nothing special, maybe B on the Double White and a B+ on the Dopplebock, but the Wee Heavy was terrible. Tasted like a rubber tire - I actually poured part of it. What is everyone else's experience with these?

thanks for the info, I'm glad I passed on these. I always thought they were SA's attempt to cash in on the "imperial" craze.

glad I read this.

I noticed a local store started carrying the imperial wit, imperial stout, and dopplebock. I'm glad I didn't shell out the money for a 4 pack.

I'm glad I didn't either - I bought them all as singles!

I've tried the Dopplebock, thought it was OK. A bit too sweet and without much complexity in my opinion.

They sell for like 10.99 here I believe. A craft brew store here used to cell 4 packs of Celebrator for around 12 bucks, so at the time I always went with the Celebrator. The shop raised their price to almost 20 bucks (!!!) for the 4 pack. Still don't think I'd get the SA again, I just stick with Salvator or Optimator, which I recently found in brown bottles and tasted much better than the green bottled ones I could only find before.
