Dangit, 4 year old post... I just had my first Sam Adams Cherry Wheat (really good). I have Pale 6row, and Wheat. An All Grain would sure be appreciated. This dang Sam Adams has a little kick, and I am in Texas, they won't let too much alcohol in a beer (must be called malt liqour).

I'm still a total newbie re: beer brewing, but I did sample one last night- and the cherry flavor seems more like an almond extract taste. Not exactly fresh cherries, I would add a cherry flavor extract to duplicate instead of fresh fruit. Or, perhaps they are adding lots of cherry pits to get that flavor?

IT'S ALIVE!!!! :)

Make a well balanced wheat beer, and then dump lactose and a couple of bottles of cherry cough syrup in it. C'est magnifique!

Seriously though, you will do better than Sam's just aging a good wheat on some cherries.

here's resurrecting a dinosaur! Had my first SA Cherry Wheat tonight.... Pretty darn good! I do consider myself a bit of a beer snob and I don't understand why this has been so maligned . NObody has a clone recipie?
