I made a 5 gal batch saison 3711 with this yeast and just pitched the activated pack. I mashed at 149F OG was 1.052 and the FG was 1.005. I pitched at 68 and let rise to 75. Now I want to make a 10 gal batch and split it in 2 carboys and make a starter and split the yeast between the carboys. Now im looking at beersmith 2 and mrmalty and they say I need 2 packs of yeast and 1.8 L starter. follow this guide or should I just use 1 pack and use a 1.8L starter to double the yeast. My starter I add O2 and shake.

I'm asking this because my beer did fine and had great flavor and super dry when I used 1 pack of yeast. Mr malty says I should have made a 1L starter in the 1st place..

I do have 2 packs of yeast but I was planning on brewing a 5 gal batch of saison again in 2 weeks.
