Anyone know when Urban Roots plans to open? It looks like they're already brewing there but it's hard to get a feel for how close they are to opening. I'd like to check them out while on a work trip to Sacramento in the next month or so.

Last I heard, they were expecting "early spring".

I would assume that means sometime in April. I am getting very excited though, they have been teasing a lot of great stuff from barrels that I noticed are collabs.

I am no super taster but this Rocklin Ale (pilsner) from Moska is tasting great. If anyone wants to meet up this afternoon Im planning to head to Mraz and then the OC event at Old Town pizza Roseville.

I hit Moksa this past Saturday night. Super Chill since most were at SAC BEER WEEK events.

Dawn Break DIPA still drinkin good.

Stout Event at Moksa this Friday. PM back on Tap (limited).

How early would we need to line up to get a pour Friday?

Even though the "Hype" for PM has died down some now that bottles went out to the public a month ago, they are also releasing 2 new beers on Friday. Zesty time Saison & Lil Puff Hazy Rye PA. That may add to the line at opening.

Still only 300ish reviews for PM on untappd. Doubt there is breakfast food and a huge line this time. Still probably need to be there a little before opening..... I am sure all the usual Sac FB groups will be posting line updates.

It's amazing people can afford those expensive beers all the while not working haha. #MustBeNice

Also got up to Moonraker. With everyone elsewhere at Sac Beer Week events.... plenty of cans available in Auburn.

This batch of Yojo was also on point. Not sure how they did it.... but maybe even better then usual? Great smell off the nose, amplified fruit upfront or something. Really good.

Just checked back in with Moksa on Monday. Quiet afternoon in the taproom. Much more production now, so almost every beer was available togo in crowlers.

Had the Lil Puff Pale Ale. Very good.

Much more production or the hype has died down because people found out that Moksa isn't the new tree house?

I made it to Moksa for the first time this last Saturday afternoon. It was a bit busy, but certainly not crowded.

I really enjoyed the beers I tried. Maybe not to the quality of someone like Moonraker or Old Glory, but they didn't seem to be far behind.

Probably some of both. But they have a tiny production area that is now packed. More equipment did go online a month or so ago that did allow more production. They were running out of beer on tap after the initial opening and then Sac Beer Week.

Not sure anyone ever mentioned them as the new Tree House? I don't think their IPAs were ever rare or in high demand, they were all easily accessible so far. The couple of Stouts (PM and Indlg) were the only ones to get hyped up so far.

They are a solid place for the Sacramento area, glad they are here. I don't care or follow all the hype beast stuff. So I will probably pass seeking out on the upcoming collabs with Wakefield or if they do something with others of that type...

I just meant as their general hype, not comparing the IPA. They were sure hyped at the west coast tree house level of hype before they opened.

Stopped by today. I’m not necessarily a bbq connessiuer, but that was prob the best bbq I’ve had in the state of CA. And the beans and collard greens?

Amateur BBQ connesiuer here, not impressed by the meats, although the pork shoulder was better than the brisket. Surely not the best in Sac even, but the sides (potato salad and collards) were exceptional. Beer was pretty average (amidst today’s competition)- some good some bad. Food was better than the beer. Looking forward to the BA saisons to start rolling out, but not getting super excited, had a pretty corporate feel.

Looks like pretty large limits. Will be interesting to see the case count on Sat.
